I met a God.

There are many heroes in this world. Earlier, it was Hercules or Robin Hood. These days, athletes are often the heroes for the people. In India, there is a hero who outshines them all. Sachin Tendulkar, the famous Indian cricketer. Cricket is more than just a sport in India. And so, Sachin Tendulkar is more than just a sports hero. I had the honor to know him personally.

As part of our campaign for BMW at the Auto Expo 2014, we conducted an interview with a man against whom David Beckham, Lionel Messi and Hermann Maier put together do not trigger as many emotions with the fans.

I ‘ve never seen an athlete who is so thoroughly a professional, and smart in dealing with fans and media. India is very different. Celebrities have their own servants who answer their own calls on the mobile phone. This may sound strange to Europeans. But Sachin Tendulkar is to be noted that he lives in his own world. A world that is private, and not accessible to his fans. Unlike, the earlier a boxer Vitali Klitschko, who is currently facing difficulties in saving his country. With, Sachin Tendulkar, I believe, it would be able to handle the life as a  more prudently.

Addition July, 28th 2014: Watch cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar walking out to bat at Lord’s during the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club)v/s Rest of the World game at the iconic cricket ground. It’s just one minute long, but speaks volumes about the man and why exactly he is called the “God of Cricket.”
